HD Hyundai Robotics to Showcase AI-Powered Welding and Shipbuilding Automation Solutions at FABTECH 2026

2026-10-06 12:08:06

LAS VEGAS, NV - HD Hyundai Robotics will participate in FABTECH 2026, North America's largest exhibition for metal forming, fabricating, welding, and finishing, taking place from October 21 to 23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). At the show, the company will present its latest AI-powered welding automation technologies and shipbuilding-focused robotic solutions.
The exhibition marks an important milestone in HD Hyundai Robotics' expansion strategy for the North American market. Earlier this year, the company successfully supplied its robotic welding solution to a U.S. shipyard, demonstrating the practical applicability of its automation technologies in one of the industry's most challenging environments. Building on this achievement, HD Hyundai Robotics aims to introduce a broader portfolio of automation solutions designed to address labor shortages, productivity challenges, and quality requirements across the shipbuilding and manufacturing sectors.
One of the key solutions on display will be ArcPak, an automated welding system designed for sub-assembly processes in shipyards. Utilizing CAD-based programming and 3D structured-light scanning technology, ArcPak recognizes the actual geometry of fabricated components and automatically generates and compensates optimal welding paths. This enables precise welding of complex shipbuilding structures while reducing operator dependency and improving both productivity and quality.

HD Hyundai Robotics will also showcase ArcLift GO and ArcLift SLIDE, collaborative robot-based welding automation solutions developed for confined and restricted workspaces commonly found inside shipyard panel blocks. The systems are designed to be easily repositioned by workers and allow multiple robots to be operated simultaneously, delivering increased flexibility and productivity. By enabling one operator to manage several welding robots while maintaining consistent weld quality, the ArcLift series offers a practical solution to the growing shortage of skilled welders in the global shipbuilding industry.
Another highlight will be ArcAdapt IQ, an AI-powered welding quality management technology. Using specialized vision sensors, the system continuously monitors the weld pool in real time and automatically adjusts welding parameters such as voltage, current, and travel speed. This allows manufacturers to maintain stable weld quality despite variations in workpiece conditions and production environments.

In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to see the company's newly launched HDC Collaborative Robot. Featuring high payload capacity and high-speed performance, the HDC series is designed for material handling and manufacturing automation applications. The robot combines the productivity of an industrial robot with the safety and flexibility advantages of collaborative robotics.

"FABTECH 2026 provides an excellent opportunity to demonstrate how HD Hyundai Robotics is helping manufacturers and shipbuilders address workforce challenges through practical automation technologies," said a company representative. "We look forward to sharing our proven shipyard automation solutions and AI-powered welding technologies with customers across North America."
FABTECH 2026 will be held from October 21 to 23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and HD Hyundai Robotics will welcome visitors at Booth S40105, South Hall. Throughout the exhibition, local sales representatives and application engineers will be available on-site to provide customized automation consulting and technical discussions tailored to individual customer requirements.
