HD Hyundai Robotics Partners with HD Hyundai Samho to Accelerate Smart Shipyard Innovation

HD Hyundai Robotics (CEO Wan-Soo Kim) has joined forces with HD Hyundai Samho (CEO Jae-Eul Kim) to drive manufacturing innovation for the development of smart shipyards.

 

On December 22, HD Hyundai Robotics and HD Hyundai Samho signed a "Business Agreement for Production Process Automation and Smart Factory Development" at HD Hyundai Samho's headquarters, with both CEOs and key executives in attendance.

 

This agreement is aligned with HD Hyundai's FOS (Future of Shipyard) initiative and aims to accelerate smart shipyard transformation through robotics and AI-driven solutions.

 

HD Hyundai Robotics plans to co-develop customized automation solutions and validate them in real-world environments to establish optimal models. The company will also focus on developing shipbuilding-specific robotic solutions and conducting joint research to maximize group-level technological synergy.

 

By combining HD Hyundai Robotics' expertise in robotics, vision systems, and AI with HD Hyundai Samho's shipbuilding production capabilities, the partnership is expected to deliver tangible results such as improved production stability, enhanced efficiency, shortened lead times, and higher quality--ultimately setting a new global standard for smart shipyards.

 

CEO Wan-Soo Kim stated, "This agreement marks a significant milestone in expanding the application of robotic solutions to shipbuilding and heavy industries. We will lead the acceleration of smart shipyard innovation within the group and maximize technological synergy." He added, "By applying automation technologies to actual shipyard operations, we aim to achieve visible improvements in productivity and schedule reduction, pioneering smart manufacturing innovation based on robotics and AI."

 

CEO Jae-Eul Kim of HD Hyundai Samho commented, "The future of shipbuilding lies in automation and data-driven production systems. By combining the technological strengths of both companies, we will accelerate on-site innovation and establish a foundation for sustainable growth."

 

The automation and smart manufacturing capabilities secured through this agreement will be gradually expanded to other shipbuilding affiliates within the group, positioning HD Hyundai as a global leader in smart shipyard development.
