HD Hyundai Robotics and HD Hyundai Construction Equipment Sign MOU for Smart Factory Development
2026-01-14 05:31:37HD Hyundai Robotics and HD Hyundai Construction Equipment announced that on January 12, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the HD Hyundai Global R&D Center to collaborate on automating construction equipment production processes and building smart factories.
Under this agreement, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment will define the scope and direction of automation for its production sites and operations, while HD Hyundai Robotics will leverage its accumulated expertise from implementing automated welding solutions at HD Hyundai Construction Equipment's Jiangsu subsidiary, India plant, and Ulsan campus to significantly enhance automation across the entire construction equipment production line.
Following the signing, the two companies will pursue phased cooperation in various areas, including:
Development of customized automation technologies for key production lines
Joint execution of process automation standardization and Proof of Concept (PoC)
On-site application of automation technologies across all production processes
Establishment of maintenance systems for efficient utilization of installed equipment
Joint research and review of new technologies using both companies' resources and infrastructure
Process optimization and smart factory implementation based on robotics, vision systems, and AI
In particular, the companies plan to pilot automation technologies on production lines and conduct field verification to standardize processes, thereby ensuring both operational efficiency and quality stability.
